During this school year, the Y8 classes of H-IS Rosà, together with their Technology teacher Prof. Magda Gonzati, tackled the subject of energy in a project that developed their creative and technological skills. They studied how to "create" energy, and how to apply it through the creation of a table lamp, a real design project!
The students designed their own prototypes and then got creative in choosing different materials and recycled objects (wood, plastic, different metals, etc ) to build their own lamps. They then moved on to the assembly phase, building the electrical circuit for their lamps (electrical cable-switch and bulb). The first experiments were done at school (which now explains the repeated blackouts over the past few days!), and then they finally designed the graphics to scale, by implementing the rules of representation in technical design: in a nutshell, the infamous Orthographic projections.
