Growth, reflection and action

H-International School Rosà Middle School welcomes students who have completed the Primary School and, subject to an English language support programme, students from other schools, including public schools. For those students, the school provides a specialised programme that will allow them to take advantage of the educational opportunities offered by the school, many of which require a high level of English language skills. In this section, teachers (both Italian and foreign) are fully qualified and have multiple years of experience in teaching.

The educational programme is divided into two terms (September-December and January- June), including a mid-term in the month of March.  An official schedule for all teachers is put in place where teachers evaluate the following characteristics for each subject: specific objectives (knowledge / skills), educational objectives (proficiency), content (unit of learning), methods and tools, verification or final assessment.

The English-speaking teachers collaborate in the drafting of the programs and the teaching activities, identifying the most appropriate moments for in-depth study in English.
The quota of weekly hours dedicated to the English language and activities in which native English-speaking teachers are present guarantees the progressive improvement of language skills and the broadening of the students’ vocabulary, in both humanistic and scientific fields.

The students learn to consider different approaches to various subjects and begin to understand that studying in a foreign language entails adapting to different modes of inquiry, study and evaluation.
In all of the Middle School classes, two weekly lessons of a second foreign language (German or Spanish) are mandatory.

Starting from January 2018, H-IS Rosà has also begun the process of becoming part of the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO).

School life

Our Middle School students are starting to become autonomous and responsible - in fact, they are the key players in many of the school’s activities. They raise money through sales for local charity organisations, a Musical concert, Maths Games, Sport Socials, various sport tournaments and the writing and publishing of the school’s magazine, “School Times,” and many other activities that help them to become more and more curious and open minded.
